SEXY MUMMAS I Date Night
18:58As any parent will know, kids change your lives so much, before you know it, you can't even remember the last time you dolled yourself up and had a meal out with your other half. Pregnancy is no different, if you're like me, you're so tired you're in your PJs with no make up on by 7pm most nights. Not sexy.
Even if you can't get a babysitter, I think it's important to make the effort every now and again to cook a nice meal, light some candles, turn the TV off and hide the kids toys and have a nice romantic evening in. Even through some really tough times, we'd make the effort to have some time together, even if it was just a Waitrose meal in hospital accomodation!
This weekend was my husband's birthday so what better way to have some couples time together than a dirty romantic night away.
We stayed at the beautiful Fawsley Hall Hotel, which is situated just outside Daventry in Northamptonshire, not far from where we live.
We stayed here in the summer (incidentally where we think this baby was made!) and we knew we had to come back again! The hotel is steeped in history, and is simply beautiful and the perfect place to relax.

With it being Mr Jones' birthday I arranged afternoon tea for when we arrived. We had a lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes and a scone with clotted cream and jam.
The hotel manager kindly upgraded us to the Jane Spencer suite as he knew it was Mr Jones' birthday, so we spent Sunday afternoon resting on the gigantic four poster bed after stuffing ourselves with cake.

We then got spruced up and headed down to the lovely Cedar Restaurant for dinner. We had a delicious 3 course meal. The goats cheese starter I had was so scrummy I was still talking about it today.
After a birthday breakfast on Monday morning, we headed to the spa where I had booked us both in for a massage. We then returned to the cosy lounge bar for some lunch before heading home.
Lovely touch from the hotel- birthday card and truffles |
Having seen the Christmas brochure, we're sure we'll be back, most probably with the ratbag in tow, as it really looks magical for children too.
Check out Handpicked Hotels for special offers and to view their other range of stunning hotels. Thank you to Mark and his team for making our stay extra special!
