When I was preggers I found that I could suddenly wear all the tight, stretchy dresses that had been gathering dust in my wardrobe due to not having a flat enough tummy to wear them. It was brilliant.

So good for Jennifer Love Hewitt for being a shining example of how to show off a baby bump. She looks fantastic in this tight black dress, though I think the black hair might be taking this slimming colour a little over the top. She looks a little washed out - Jen, try a warmer colour on your barnet!

 
 
 

Scorching heat aside, summer is a fairly easy time for pregnant women in terms of what to wear. Stretchy dresses and loose tops are the order of the day, with no worries about finding a decent pair of maternity jeans or a sweater that doesn't make you look three times the size!

But for anyone who isn't due before the summer ends, now is a great time to start thinking about autumn maternity wear, as there are some good summer sales on.

Fergie was seen out and about shopping with her mum recently, looking fabulous. Pregnancy clearly agrees with her. But she has been tight lipped about her due date leading to much speculation as to how far along she is.

To add to the mystery, Fergie has been rocking the boho look, eschewing traditional maternity wear in favour of peasant blouses and leather leggings. The outfits have been cleverly disguising her bump, making it hard to even take a guess at a birth date.

But whenever she gives birth, we wish her well and hope she keeps up her unique maternity style!

Friends keep telling me I'm going to look SWELL during pregnancy and imagine I'll be a trendy mummy rather than a slummy (they don't see me at weekends, believe me). So for that reason I feel pressured to look funky rather than frumpy. That means occasional little Urban Outfitters blow-outs, throwing in a bit of Primarni and All Saints.

However, drastic dwindling funds have put paid to THOSE shopping addictions - so I'm making do with what I have.  Luckily for me, IBS ensured I bought loose tops (often looked like I had a 6 month curry baby at times) so I have a nice selection of loose numbers, teamed with simple black leggings, shiny leggings or 3/4 on-trend midi skirts - BOOM!
